For the past two years in Culleens we have been putting our food waste into the Brown Bin from Barna Waste. But before that we composted our food and paper waste here on our school site. So on Friday of Climate Action week we harvested one of these compost bins. 6th class girls gathered 12 buckets of composted soil. Many thanks to Dunnes Stores in Ballina who provided us with their black plastic flower buckets in which we gathered the compost. It gave us a chance to re use these buckets which would otherwise go straight to recycling.
