Seashore Safari

Seashore Safari
Explorers Program

As part of Climate Action Week, 5th and 6th classes enjoyed a Sea Shore Safari on Enniscrone Beach with Sorsha Kennedy, Mayo Education Officer from Leavenotrace.ie.

A powerpoint workshop was followed by investigation of the Sea Shore and we identified many species of flora and fauna. We filled in our Ocean Guides and continue to work on them in class. Both classes were surveyed before and after the workshop to determine our marine literacy knowledge. Both classes showed an improvement of over 40% so we were very happy with that. We will continue to work with Sorsha throughout the school year ahead while we work on lessons about the marine environment.
